Role Description

The Machine Operator will be responsible to set up, operate, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on packaging line equipment. The role will effectively communicate with and lead team members to meet production goals.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Complete production work orders on time and per Blk & Bold standards
  • Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops
  • Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment
  • Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials
  • Partner with Production Manager to ensure efficient use of line and improve processes
  • Support regular Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks on machines
  • Set up production machines for production cycle to support different packaging formats
  • Address equipment issues that occur during the shift
  • Responsible for following all applicable quality and food safety procedures and policies
  • Follow all GMP's, personal safety, and food safety guidelines 
  • Accurately maintain company records and forms
  • Maintain the work area and ensure equipment is in clean and orderly condition

Qualifications

  • Machine operation experience and mechanical aptitude preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with team members
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
  • Experience using hand tools and other equipment required to operate machinery
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify problems and make corrections as needed
  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required; technical degree or certification in related field is a plus
  • 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing/ production environment preferred
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail
  • Demonstrate punctuality and adhere to work schedule
  • Fork truck,(Electric) Pallet Jack, and scissor lift training/certification within 6 months 

Work Environment

  • Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 60 pounds frequently throughout a day
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, reach and bend for extended periods of time
  • Ability to hear, see, and speak within a loud environment
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures including environments with hot roasters
